November Sketch Challenge and DT CALL

Can you believe it's already November?
If you haven't started your Christmas cards, the sketch this week is a great place to start.

DESIGN TEAM CALL

Before we get to the challenge, you'll have noticed from the title that we're looking for a few new members to join the team in 2016.  We have a rota of challenges each month:
  • Week 1 - Sketch
  • Week 2 - Colours
  • Week 3 - Theme/Recipe
  • Week 4 - Stash/Technique
  • Week 5 - Pick a Previous (the host gets to pick)
If you wish to be considered you need to play along with THREE of the four challenges this month. Put the letters, DT, after your name on your entry submission.  We will contact successful applicants during December and the new DT members will start with us in January 2016.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled post - the sketch challenge:

We can't wait to see what you create!

Before we go, a quick reminder about word verification on comments.  The Design Team loves to visit your blogs and comment on your work, but this process is made much harder by having to go through comment verification on each comment.  Please can you make sure that you have this turned off in your blog settings.  Go to "settings", then to "post and comments" and where it says "show word verification" - select NO.  Thank you so much for your help.  Now - go have fun crafting!!

October Technique Challenge

Hi, it's April here. I hope that you are enjoying all your Christmas crafting. Our challenge this week is to make a Christmas card using the technique of resist embossing.

You simply heat emboss a stamped image with clear embossing powder and then use sponges or daubers to create a blended ink background. Here is Beate Johns' tutorial

I know that we are sure to see some amazing cards produced with this lovely technique. Please read our rules carefully before you submit your Christmas or winter themed card.

I hope that you will be inspired by the DT's beautiful cards.

October Theme Challenge

Hello! It's April here. Thank you for joining us at 52CCT as we prepare our cards for the big day. My theme for this challenge is inspired by my favourite Christmas music, John Rutter's 'Wild Wood Carol'. I love the verse,

'Sing o' the wild wood, the green holly
The silent river and barren tree
The humble creatures that no man sees
Sing o' the wild wood.'

For this challenge, we would like to see those hidden creatures and/or trees on your cards. Any woodland inhabitant is very welcome eg. foxes, rabbits, deer, or indeed any suitably wintery trees, rivers or green holly. We cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Here are the woodland creations of the DT.
