November Technique Challenge Top Picks

Guess some of you didn't want to get messy last week! We only had a few entries for the Acrylic Block Print Background, but the standard of those entries was extremely high, making it incredibly difficult to chose an overall winner.  Every DT member had a different choice for the top spot it seemed. As hostess for the month the casting vote came down to me and so our top pick goes to....

Top Honor

..for these beautiful embossed trees on the chilly sky background.  Well done, Helen, please take the winners' badge from the side bar if you would like it

It only seems fair that the remaining cards, which were all amazing, should also get a mention and so we have 6 Honorable mentions this week. In numerical order we say well done to..

Don't forget we have the current challenge still running, where we are asking you to pick a previous theme from our past challenges, and I see that this has inspired quite a lot of you to enter already!

November Pick A Previous Theme Challenge

Since we started the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog we have chosen a number of 'themes' as challenges.  As this is the fifth and last Saturday in November we are inviting you to submit your Christmas card featuring any of our
Previous Themes.
There are several to choose from, check out our Themes Archive page.

Please remember to note in your post which theme you have chosen.  This is my final week as your hostess and I've had a ball, firstly thinking up the challenges, then writing the posts, creating my own sample cards and, not least, visiting all your blogs! Thank you for humouring me in my choices, I really have enjoyed looking at every card you've created.

I will be back on Wednesday to announce the winners of the Technique challenge from last week- thanks to those who support us every (or nearly every) week, those who dip in now and again and those who found us for the first time- we couldn't do it without you!

Without further ado , here are some sample cards from the DT:

November Recipe Top Picks

Thank you for all your beautiful one layer cards, we love looking at every one and are so pleased that many of you continue to enter our challenges week after week. A recipe for a card is a great idea (it wasn't mine, so I can't take the credit, I first heard of it from my amazingly creative DT buddy Ruth), just like real cooking you take some ingredients and everyone comes out with something slightly different! One or two of you missed out bits of the recipe - might be OK for cooking but for our cards we wanted everything included!
Our top honour for this challenge goes to

Judy

for a stunning use of a hint of colour and a beautiful bow, all on one deliciously embossed one layer!

The following cards also caught the eyes of the DT and deserve a special honourable mention too.

Please grab the winners button from the side bar if you'd like to. Congratulations to all our to top picks.
Don't forget we still have the technique challenge going this week and there's plenty of time left to enter!

November Technique Challenge

Hope you're enjoying the challenges this month at 52 CCT. Louise here again, for week four - a  technique challenge. This is one of my favourite ways of creating a background- inking up an acrylic block, spritzing with water and printing it onto card- very easy, very effective and quite versatile.  It's not too messy either, if you don't like getting inky fingers (I'm not very keen!).

If you entered the Recipe challenge last week, check back here in Wednesday to see which cards caught our eyes. To help you get started on this week's challenge have a look at the work of my very talented DT colleagues below.

Here's some inspiration from the DT~

November Sketch Challenge Top Picks

Thank you to everyone who entered our sketch challenge.  When I design a sketch it is always amazing to me that all you lovely crafters want to have  a go with it. The best part is seeing what people create and thinking 'I wish I'd thought of that!' We had some fantastic entries, and you always make it difficult to pick an overall winner, but this time there was a clear stand out top pick,

Who would not smile if you saw this happy chap on your Christmas card? Such sparkle and happy festiveness!

Our other favourites, in numerical order were

Well done to you all, don't forget to grab your badges and display them proudly on your blogs!
Don't forget our colour challenge is still open for a few more days and I'd love to see some more entries- colours are black, white and grey only- why not give it a try, if you haven't already.

November Colour Challenge

Thanks for all those fantastic entries for our sketch challenge last week- it is always great to see the different takes on a sketch and you make the job of picking out our favourites very tough!.  Check back on Wednesday to find out who made top picks! Welcome to Saturday and another challenge from us, of course as it's the second Saturday in November, it must be a colour challenge - I am interested to see what you'll make of this very monochrome combo.

A little bit of silver is OK, but mostly the three colours please (what I mean is please don't replace the grey with silver completely).

Here's some inspiration from the DT~
