March Pick a Previous Challenge

Greetings!  It's the fifth Saturday of the month, which means it's "Pick a Previous" week!

This week we'd like for you to click on our Colour Combos Archive tab, choose a combination that we've used for one of our prior color challenges, and create a Christmas card with it.  Then share your card using the linky tool at the bottom of this post.  We'd love to see what you make!  We do ask that in your blog post, you note which of our previous color schemes you've used for your card.

Our March guest designer, Scraplady, has created a sparkly, snowy scene
using the October 2013 combo, no red or green:

Here is some more inspiration from the Design Team:

(July 2012 - black and white with a splash of blue)

(May 2013 - red and white)

(January 2014 - choose three colors from two blues, two purples, and yellow)

(July 2013 - deep red, dark green, ivory, and dark brown)

(September 2012 - brown, red, and cream or white )

(May 2012 - purple, silver, and green)

March Stash Challenge - Paper Flowers

Welcome to 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown!  Whether this is your first visit here or you're one of our regular challenge participants, we're glad you're here, and we hope you'll join in the fun and creativity!

This week is "stash challenge" week, where we invite you to use products that you likely already have in your crafting supplies.  This time we want to see your dimensional paper flowers!  You can can use store-bought paper flowers (such as Primas) or you can create flowers with punches, dies, or an electronic die-cutting machine.  Using floral patterned paper doesn't count for this challenge unless you find a way to lift those flowers off the card!  Stamping or using a digital image of a Christmasy flower only works if you then cut it out and give it some dimension.  (See the cards Design Team members Jacqueline and Deborah made for two excellent examples of that.)  Have fun being creative with this!

Here is what our March Guest Designer, Scraplady, has done with our theme.
Her gold floral doily visually balances with the printed poinsettia in the bottom corner.

Here is some more fabulous inspiration from the Design Team.
Check out the different ways they've used dimensional flowers!
While you're at it, put a smile on their faces by leaving a comment on their blogs!
After all, everyone enjoys receiving comments.  :)

March Color Challenge

Hello there!  It's Patricia, your challenge hostess for the month of March.  In the United States, it's "Spring Forward" weekend for the places that observe Daylight Savings Time.  It hasn't felt much like Spring yet where I live in Virginia; we received about 5 inches of snow on top of some sleet on Monday.  But no matter what the weather is like, it's always Christmas time here at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

Since it's the second Saturday of the month, we're presenting a color challenge for this week.  Pick three or more of the colors from this graphic to use in your Christmas or wintry card:

You may also use white, cream, gold, silver, or black as neutrals for your card base, as embellishments, or as ink colors for outline images or sentiments.  However, the colors from the graphic should be the main colors used on your card.

We have a very vintage card from our March Guest Design Team member, Scraplady!
Here's her take on our colors:

What will you create with these colors?   You have until 6:00 pm GMT/1:00 pm Eastern time Friday, March 14 to share your card with us via the linky tool below.
