I’m Gill, your host for November, and I’m so excited to bring you this week’s challenge. We’re well into November now, and Christmas is drawing ever closer — which means it’s the perfect time to keep building up that collection of handmade cards. And if you’re looking for a little creative inspiration, you’re absolutely in the right place!

November’s Challenge: It’s Colour Week!

This week, we’re going bold and bright with a Colour Challenge that’s full of festive energy — red, lime green, and turquoise!

These colours are a fun and modern twist on the traditional Christmas palette. They work beautifully together to create something fresh, playful, and eye-catching. Think cheerful baubles, quirky trees, and bold geometric patterns — or even something soft and elegant if you prefer a more contemporary look.

Get Creative with Colour!

This colour combo gives you so much scope to experiment! You might choose crisp white card bases to let the colours really pop, or layer up bright patterned papers for a fun, festive explosion.

Try inking up your backgrounds, using die-cuts, or adding a touch of sparkle with glitter, gems, or metallic accents — gold or silver both look amazing alongside these shades. However you choose to play, let your creativity shine!

Hello lovely crafters, and welcome to a brand-new month at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

I’m Gill, and I’m absolutely delighted to be your host for the month of November. Can you believe how close we are to Christmas now? It’s the perfect time to dust off that glitter, pull out your prettiest papers, and get those festive creative juices flowing!

Whether you’ve been crafting along with us all year or you’re just discovering 52CCT, we’re so happy to have you here. Our wonderful Design Team has been spreading Christmas cheer since January with their stunning cards and fabulous inspiration, and now it’s your turn to join in the fun.

 November’s First Challenge: It’s Sketch Week! 

We’re kicking off the month with one of my favourite types of challenges — a Sketch Challenge!

If you’ve never tried one before, this is a brilliant place to start. A sketch gives you a layout to follow — a bit like a creative roadmap — but there’s still plenty of room to add your own flair.

You can keep things simple and follow the design closely, or you might fancy flipping it, stretching it, or swapping out the shapes. As long as we can still see the bones of the original sketch, you’re good to go!

Sketch challenges are a wonderful way to spark your imagination. Try out new colour combinations, add a touch of sparkle, or play with different textures — metallic papers, embossed backgrounds, twine, gems… whatever makes your Christmas heart happy!

It's time for: QUICK CARD -  it should be made in no more than half an hour.

When I checked the box of my holiday cards, I realized that I don't have enough cards

in stock to brighten up the holidays for all my loved ones. 

So choosing quick greeting card making is completely appropriate for me.
