May Sketch Challenge Honorable Mentions & Top Honor

Hi, hi!  It's that time of the week again--Top Honor and Honorable Mentions from last week's sketch challenge!

Before I share my picks, can I just make a couple of quick comments?  I've gotten a bit upset at times when my card hasn't won.  I really try to put my heart and soul into my crafting, and sometimes when it seems that no one sees my creations and/or doesn't appreciate them, I tend to get down.  BUT, it also challenges me to get better!  Why and I sharing this?  I felt like I needed to.  I've often wondered if the DT people on other challenge blogs even really LOOK at my card before they comment.  Not just glance, but actually LOOK.  While I can't speak for them--and I'm sure they are NEVER meaning ill will--I can speak for myself and Jacqueline (hopefully?).  We LOVE seeing everyone's creations here at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and we hope you know how appreciative we are that you play along with us.  Please don't take offense if you don't win--we can't choose everyone!  Just keep trying--we love having you!!! :)

Okay, so now that it's over with, let's get to the main point of our post!

  1. Just here to have my say...
I'm never upset if I don't win...It's the taking part with other like minded people that I LOve and the things you can learn. I too put my heart and soul into everything I make lol...The two things that do upset though is...
Either no one for the Challenge even comes to take a peek Or they come after the Challenge has ended!

  2. Thank you so much for mentioning my card in your honourable mentions, it is that; an honour that someone has taken the time to look at your card and make comments about it. It is easy to tell when someone has looked at your card from their comments, they seem more personal somehow, It is these comments that mean most, winning a challenge is great but I have learned so much from constructive commenting and agree with your thoughts as above. Thank you Meg xx

*personally i don't get upset when my card is not a "winner" as i make them for me and the therapy it gives me :) and my top critic is my hubby so he has to like them! lol

  4. Hi Mynette,

I have just started this sort of stuff (making cards, entering challenges etc) and I just loved what you said above. I love making Christmas cards, so I will now start following your blog and entering the challenges. At the end of the day, I agree with you. Do people actually look at the entries or just glance at them? I also love the fact that these challenges give me a huge amount of inspiration and I have now made a few cards that I never even thought would be part of my creativeness lol. Anyway, your honesty is refreshing and I can't wait to start!
