May Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!  Welcome to our challenge blog!  If you're new here, we hope you'll join in the fun and creativity of making a Christmas or wintry card each week.  If you're a returning participant, we're glad to have you back with us.

It's Patricia here, and I'm excited to be hosting the challenges for the month of May!  Thank you to Louise for a fun month of April challenges, and thank you to everyone who joined in them.  The Design Team loves seeing the creativity of our challenge participants!

Since it's the first Saturday of the month, this week's challenge is a sketch challenge. I drew up the sketch as an A2 sized rectangle (5.5" x 4.25") but if you prefer to make square cards, feel welcome to manipulate it into a square.  You can also choose to turn the sketch on its side or flip it mirror-image.  Any shape can be substituted for the star-shaped element.

Here's what the Design Team has done with the sketch:

Please take a moment to read our challenge rules carefully before creating your card.

  • We are a Christmas card challenge - please post only Christmas or winter-related cards.
  • Please mention 52 Christmas Card Throwdown in your post and provide a link so that others can join our challenge too.
  • Please link to your blog post and NOT your entire blog.
  • Your project must be new - no back links please.
  • You may combine this challenge with up to 10 other challenges.
  • Please turn off word verification so that we may comment on your card more easily.  We realize a lot of you use it for safety reasons. We do our best to leave comments for each of our challenge participants, however, trying to figure out those letters and numbers can be very frustrating!  We strongly suggest using comment moderation as a friendlier alternative.
  • We would love you to add our blog button to your blog's sidebar.

The rest of the design team and I are looking forward to seeing what you make!  Remember that you have until midnight British Summer Time/7:00 p.m. Eastern time Friday, May 8 to link your card.
