December Pick a Previous Sketch Challenge

Howdy Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls

It's Jill here and I will be your hostess with the mostest for the month of December here at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!  As always our first challenge of the month is a Sketch challenge.  Sketches are always a great place for inspiration or a starting point if you aren't quite feeling the creative juices flowing!!  This last sketch challenge of the year should get you ready to make it to the finish line with those last few christmas cards you need!!

The good news is, for all of the December challenges, you will be able to choose something you have seen earlier this year, so you already have a leg up especially if you join us and show off your wonderful works of art with us regularly (and let me say we hope you do!!)  As with all sketches, they really are just a starting point so you can turn your card, of course change the shapes and colours, as long as we can recognize the sketch elements in your card you do you!!!  Don't forget to mention which previous sketch you have chosen.

We cannot wait to see what you come up with!!

Our Design team has been hard at work to give you tons of inspiration if you find yourself stuck at all.  We also love it when you visit our blogs and show us a little love!!

November Stash Challenge

Welcome to the Final Challenge of November 2025 at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

Hello, lovely crafters, and welcome to our final challenge of November 2025 here at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

It’s hard to believe how quickly this month has flown by — Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to get those last few handmade cards finished and ready to send. For our final week of November, we’re diving into a Stash Challenge that celebrates one of the most beloved tools in every crafter’s collection…

November’s Stash Challenge: Stamps!

That’s right — this week it’s all about stamps! Whether you’re a fan of traditional red rubber stamps, prefer clear photopolymer, or even love using cling stamps, this challenge is the perfect excuse to pull them out and get inky.

Stamps are at the heart of cardmaking, and there’s no better time than now to give them centre stage. From crisp sentiments and detailed backgrounds to bold focal images, stamping offers endless creative possibilities. So dust off those festive favourites — snowflakes, holly leaves, cosy cottages, and cheerful Santas — and show us your best stamped Christmas designs!

Get Creative with Stamps!

This challenge is all about celebrating the versatility of your stamping stash.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Layer your stamps for extra depth — try background stamping behind your focal image.

  • Heat emboss for a bit of sparkle and shine.

  • Use different coloured inks for a playful, multi-toned look.

  • Try stamp masking to build a scene or cluster of festive images.

  • Or go minimalist with a single striking stamp as the star of your design.

Whether you’re using old favourites or trying out a brand-new set, we can’t wait to see how you bring your stamps to life this week!

Inspiration from the Design Team

Our brilliant Design Team has been busy stamping up a storm! From classic Christmas scenes to contemporary designs, they’ve explored all sorts of styles and techniques to show just how versatile stamping can be.

Be sure to check out their creations — they’re full of clever ideas and festive inspiration that are bound to spark your imagination!

Join the Fun!

Now it’s your turn to get stamping! Create your Christmas card using stamps as the main feature and share it with us below. Whether your design is clean and simple or full of layers and texture, we can’t wait to see your stamped creations filling the gallery!

November Theme Challenge

Welcome to Week Three of November’s 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge!

Hello, crafty friends, and welcome back to another creative week at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

I’m Gill, your host for the month of November, and I can hardly believe how quickly the weeks are flying by. The festive season is just around the corner — and if you’re like me, you’re probably adding those finishing touches to your handmade card stash! But don’t pack away your supplies just yet, because this week’s challenge is one you won’t want to miss.

 November’s Theme Challenge: Winter Scene

This week, we’re stepping into the magical world of winter scenes! From snowy landscapes and frosty forests to cosy cottages and twinkling night skies, this theme is all about capturing the serene beauty of the season.

Whether you prefer a traditional look with classic Christmas colours or a modern twist with soft pastels and shimmer, there are endless ways to bring a winter scene to life. You could stamp a peaceful village beneath falling snow, build a forest of frosted evergreens with die cuts, or even try an inky blended background for that crisp, chilly feel.

Get Creative with Winter Magic

This challenge is perfect for showing off your favourite winter techniques! Maybe you’ll create dimension with layers of snowy hills, use embossing paste for textured snow, or add sparkle with a touch of glitter or metallic paint. You can keep it simple and serene, or go bold and dramatic — the choice is yours.

Think of scenes that make you feel warm and festive inside: a glowing lantern in the snow, a peaceful woodland with deer, or even a jolly snowman under a starlit sky. However you imagine winter, we want to see it on your cards!

Inspiration from the Design Team

Our fabulous Design Team has been busy bringing the wonder of winter to life, and their creations are simply stunning! From delicate die-cut silhouettes and softly ink-blended backgrounds to detailed stamped landscapes, there’s so much to inspire you this week.

Be sure to visit their blogs for a closer look and a few crafty tips — you’re sure to find something that sparks your imagination!
