September Stash Winners

Hello fellow Christmas crafters! It's time to announce the winners of our September Stash Challenge: Diamonds and Pearls. I have to say, the entries were, sparkly, extravagant, elegant, truly magical and undeniably festive. Well done, ladies!

With so many marvellous makes, unfortunately, selecting winners and runners-up led to a bout of mud-wrestling between Design Team members. But in the end the spirit of Christmas prevailed. We shook hands, hugged and decided on the following:

TOP HONOUR

HONOURABLE MENTIONS (in numerical order)

Congratulations to the winners. Don't forget to grab your badges and display them proudly on your blogs!

Our October Sketch Challenge is still open. You have until Friday 6pm UK / 1pm Eastern to link up your projects.

September Theme Challenge

Welcome to another Saturday and our third challenge of the month. As is tradition, it's time for a Theme Challenge and we have a great one for you this week! We're taking a trip to the land of reindeers, elves and the jolly man himself to recreate a Nordic Christmas!

So what exactly is a Nordic or Scandinavian Christmas?

Simply put, it's rustic, minimalist, cool, cozy, calm and peaceful. That means Natural and Neutral tones such as wood, black, white, kraft, silver, wheat. The most popular accent colour is Red.  Green or Blue are alternative complimentary colours but avoid using all three unless you have lots of neutral colours and  space to maintain the uncluttered feel. Repeat patterns are another common feature. It's all about light and purity. For texture, opt for natural material such as wood, straw accessories, tree branches, pine cones, linen.

The Look: Homespun, Handmade, Nothing Manufactured. Simple elegance is the motto but not necessarily extreme CAS. Keep your designs light, fresh and not overly embellished - that's it!

We have a very special Guest Designer this week: Peg Coombes of Peg Craft-a-Lot. Peg is a super talented crafter.  Take a look at what Peg has made for our challenge:

September Colour Challenge

Good morning all. Are you ready for another round of festive fun? It's Week #2 and we have a Colour Challenge for you. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a Christmas project in the colour combination shown in the prompt:

Red  OR  Blue  +  Black  AND  White  +  Silver  OR  Gold

This is, after all, a festive challenge and we really want you to have fun. So we've decided to be a little flexible with the Red and Blue. You may use various shades of Red (such as burgundy, poppy, crimson, scarlet, excluding pink) OR Blue (royal blue, sky blue, cornflower blue, navy, excluding purple).

We also have a sponsor supporting us this month - Deedee's Digis - and some of the team will be using digi images on their cards. When you have a moment, check out Deedee's online store - there's no shortage of cute images there!

Are you ready to play along? Here are some wonderful makes by the DT to inspire you:
